Welcome to class! I'll be your guide on this journey... though I will be taking the journey for the first time myself as I have not taught this particular course yet.
Currently I am the Literacy Coach in Littleton for grades 7-12. However, I was engaged as an English teacher in grades 7,9,10, and 12 for the previous 13 years. I have also spent the last nearly two years as a teacher consultant for the Plymouth Writing Project focusing on writing across the curriculum and the use of technology in the instruction of writing.
Like each of you, I hope to gain something from our experience together. For me it is specifically a better understanding of how to help teachers better integrate writing activities into their instruction across discipline areas. Specifically, I am curious about writing that demonstrates learning and thinking.
In the back of my mind lately is that hope for spring, kayaking, opening camp for the first time, swimming with my two children, and feeling the heat of the sun again! I've always lived in Northern New England, and lately I am wondering why! Why?
That's a bit of me.
I am eager to have rich conversations in our class. Thank you for sharing your mind with us.
